My mother was a teacher for over 30 years, so I have seen some scary gifts (a half used bar of soap one year) and I think it makes me a little more paranoid than most when picking out gifts. I know that you can only use so many apple coffee cups!

Teacher Gifts
I need to buy six teacher gifts this year for my daughters' preschool and Mother's Day Out teachers/aides. I normally have an idea by now, but I am at a total loss this year. Does anyone have a favorite teacher gift you like to give?

Disney Moms Panel
Lemon Drop and Mickey Mouse - WDW January 2005
I LOVE Disney World. I am not sure it is normal or healthy for someone my age, but I would go again tomorrow. I love planning and planning before a trip. Making dinner reservations, changing the reservations, scheduling everything down to the hour and then throwing it all out the window when you realize Mickey and friends just pulled up and Lemon Drop gets to meet Mickey Mouse for the very first time.
I was excited to learn from Design Mom today that there is a great Disney resource I didn't know about, The Disney Moms Panel. You can be sure I will use it when I decided to obsessively plan a trip again!

Noggin Obsessed
That Moose and Zee are really habit forming.... and Oswald... how can you be hooked on Oswald? I don't know what can be so fascinating about a big blue octopus and his little dog, but it is to Jellybean. I am hoping for better weather soon so we can get out of the house more. Here in Kansas it goes from freezing to rain to 150 degrees... hopefully we can catch a few nice days before the heat wave starts to dry her out. Noggin rehab doesn't sound like fun for any of us.

Cake Decorating
I have always wanted to learn to decorate cakes. I have never really decorated a cake before... but I imagine myself making something like this beautiful cake from Pink Cake Box for Lemon Drop or Jellybean's birthday.
I signed up for a cake decorating class a few months ago, but when I got there it was very disappointing and not at all what I was looking for. I didn't go back after the first session. Maybe I should have stuck it out, but I am hoping maybe in the fall once Lemon Drop starts Kindergarten I might try to find a new class. In the meantime, I will just have dream about the Pink Cake Box!

Funky Personalized Gifts
I just came across these great personalized gifts at EM Tanner Designs. They are cute as can be, and doesn't every kid love to have their name plastered all over stuff... I know Jellybean and Lemon Drop do. I think they would make the perfect big brother or big sister gift. Check them out here.

Temporary Tattoos
My daughter Lemon Drop - age 5 - (and not her real name!) is always "a little nervous". She isn't really scared of the normal things... the dark or someone hiding in her closet... she is scared of doing somersaults, going to college, and temporary tattoos. She will happily watch her friends do these things (well not the college part), but she will never, ever participate. So this week we had a giant breakthrough, she is no longer afraid of temporary tattoos. I am not sure what made her change her mind, but she has been proudly sporting a Chuck E. Cheese tattoo on her left hand most of the week. This may seem like a little thing to you, but to a woman who had to escort her daughter out of dance class for failing to cooperate at tumbling time, this is a huge step. Harvard here she comes!

One Lil' Cupcake
I love these little hair clips from One Lil' Cupcake. They are really adorable and my youngest daughter Jellybean gets lots of compliments when she wears them. We haven't invested in the 12 month gift set yet... but I would love to.

World's Greatest Dish Soap
So after obsessing over what my first "real post" should be about, I decided to share my new favorite find. One of my favorite blogs Oh Happy Day turned me on to Mrs. Meyer's and I can never go back to Palmolive again. I love the Lemon Verbana dish soap... it almost makes washing dishes fun.
Web Obsessed
My husband has given me the nickname "Web Obsessed" (or W.O. when he thinks he is being cute) because he thinks I spend too much time online. I have tried to tell him I am researching, but he doesn't seem to think I have much research to do. Now I can tell him I am researching for great things to blog about. I hope I can share some of my fabulous research and tell a few stories that won't permanently scar my family to find online. Who knows... maybe even a couple of people will come around to read it now and then!
